Lewis J. Baughman, 91, of Reynoldsville died Friday, April 3, 2015 at Christ the King Manor.
Born Sept. 21, 1923 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Mable (Bundy) Crose.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star.
On Dec. 25, 1945, he married Ethel (Bish) Baughman. She survives. They celebrated 69 years of marriage this past December.
He retired from Howe’s Leather in Mt. Jewett and Ridgway after 36 years of service. He worked alongside his wife, Ethel, and they both retired on the same day. After he and his wife retired, they were full time RVer’s.
Mr. Baughman was a member of the Emmanuel Boone Mountain Church for many years, where he served as a deacon. He was also a member of the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Fire Department and an ambulance driver for the Mt. Jewett Volunteer Ambulance. He was past president of the International Camping Club.
He is survived by three children, Ronald Baughman of Lakewood, Colo., Judy Griswald of Mt. Jewett and LuAnn Ackley of Akron, Ohio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Ellis Jones.
Friends will be received from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home with Pastor David Woods officiating.
Full military honors will be accorded from the funeral home by the members of the DuBois Area Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Boone Mountain Cemetery.
