UPDATE: State Police Locate Missing Tyrone Man


TYRONE – Gerald J. Halbedl, 71, of Tyrone has been located, according to an updated report from the state police at Holidaysburg.

TYRONE – State police at Holidaysburg are currently searching for a missing person, Gerald J. Halbedl, 71, of Tyrone.

Halbedl was seen at the St. Matthew’s Church in Tyrone during the early morning hours Tuesday, state police said. Further, state police learned that Halbedl was at the Sheetz this morning in Clearfield Borough.

According to state police, Halbedl was driving a silver-colored 2004 Honda Pilot. His vehicle has the Pennsylvania registration of FVG2113.

Halbedl was described by state police as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 240 pounds. He has gray/white hair and brown eyes.

State police noted that Halbedl suffers from Alzheimer’s Disease/dementia as well as a heart condition.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Halbedl is asked to contact their local police department.
