CLEARFIELD – Joseph B. Bower Jr. (center), president and chief executive officer of CNB Bank, recently presented a check to Doug Bloom (left) and John Catalano (right), co-chairmen of the Curwensville-Pike Township Historical Society.

The funds donated by CNB will be used by the Curwensville World War II Memorial Committee to help construct a memorial that will recognize all World War II veterans from Curwensville and the surrounding area.

“We express many thanks to CNB for supporting our project, as well as other local charities and organizations,” said Catalano.

The memorial will be constructed of sandstone from a local quarry with each of the 800 men and women’s names inscribed on plaques attached to the sandstone.
