State police at Clearfield
- On Friday, someone allegedly threw an unknown object from the Interstate 80 overpass in Lawrence Township. It subsequently struck the victim’s window and caused $250 worth of damage, state police said. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
- An accident occurred Saturday on the Curwensville – Tyrone Highway in Pike Township. Stephen B. Keller Jr. of Curwensville was traveling south when his vehicle went onto the west berm and struck the guiderail. Keller fled the scene and failed to notify police of the accident. State police were assisted by the Curwensville Fire Department.
- A DUI-related accident occurred Sunday on U.S. Route 322 near Barrett’s Curve in Bradford Township. Further, a 26-year-old Morrisdale man was traveling east and too fast for conditions while entering a right-hand curve. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle, causing him to leave the roadway and strike an embankment. The man was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Charges of DUI will be filed pending blood-alcohol test results, state police said.
- An accident occurred Saturday at Cross Roads Boulevard in Bigler Township. Brandy Pelton of Madera was traveling west and Meloniie Fyock of Ramey was traveling east. Pelton crossed the center of the roadway, which caused a head-on collision. Fyock and Pelton sustained moderate and minor injuries, respectively; both were wearing their seatbelts. Pelton was cited for the accident, state police said.
- An incident of DUI occurred Jan. 5 in the area of Laurel Run Road and Route 322 in Boggs Township. During the incident, a 51-year-old Morrisdale man was stopped for several traffic violations. Upon investigation it was allegedly found that he was intoxicated and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was arrested and transported to the state police at Clearfield where he refused chemical testing. DUI and related charges will be filed through the district court, state police said.
- On Saturday, state police checked on a motorist who was stopped alongside the roadway in the area of Surveyor Run Road and Route 879 in Girard Township. Upon investigation state police found a 21-year-old Clearfield man who was allegedly under the influence of controlled substances. He was also allegedly found in possession of illegal drug(s), drug paraphernalia and U.S. Currency. He was subsequently arrested for DUI, possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession with intent to deliver. Charges were filed through the district court, state police said.
- On Sunday, a Marion, W.Va. man was driving west in a Wal-Mart Transportation freightliner on Route 322 in Decatur Township. At the same time, someone was allegedly driving a vehicle east and threw a snowball, which contained a rock, at the man’s windshield, causing damage. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
State police at DuBois
- An incident of DUI occurred Sunday on South Brady Street in Sandy Township. Further, a 21-year-old Brockway man was stopped for several summary traffic violations. Upon investigation state police allegedly detected a strong odor of alcohol and he was subsequently arrested for DUI. Charges for DUI and other summaries are pending blood test results, state police said.
State police at Philipsburg
- An incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred sometime Thursday or Friday on North Eighth Street in Philipsburg Borough. During the incident, someone allegedly entered the victim’s vehicle and removed his wallet from the center console. The total stolen is estimated at $4, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred Saturday on Beckwith Drive in Taylor Township. During the incident, a 29-year-old Altoona woman became upset because she was putting her child down for a nap. However, the child’s primary custody holder, a 55-year-old Tyrone man, advised it was OK for the child to continue playing with a 28-year-old Tyrone woman. As a result, the Altoona woman allegedly began to yell and curse and the man slapped her in the mouth and told her to leave. When she didn’t leave, the man allegedly grabbed her and pushed her up against the counter. The two were subsequently separated after which the Altoona woman allegedly continued to yell and struck the Tyrone woman in the face. Both the Altoona woman and Tyrone man were cited for harassment, state police said.
- An incident of harassment occurred sometime between Jan. 4 and Jan. 9 on East Beaver Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, someone has allegedly been putting dead animals in the victim’s yard, spitting in their driveway and left a bottle of urine in their mailbox. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
State police at Ridgway
- An accident occurred Thursday on the Million Dollar Highway in Fox Township. Tammy G. Simbeck of St. Marys was traveling south; a vehicle operated by William Quagliani of Kersey was entering traffic from a stopped position on Homestead Road. At the time, Quagliani was also looking at his dashboard light and pulled out and was struck by the Simbeck vehicle. Both Simbeck and Quagliani were wearing their seatbelts. State police were assisted by the Fox Township Fire Department and the Fox Township Ambulance.
Clearfield Borough
- Police responded to an alarm that was activated at a local auto parts store. Upon arrival to the scene, police found a door that had not been secured properly. Police conducted a search of the building and found nothing missing; an employee responded and assisted in securing the door.
- Police were requested to check the welfare of a male who was feeling depressed. Upon arrival police spoke to the male and were able to handle the incident at the scene.
- Police have initiated an investigation into an alleged theft incident in which a package was removed from the front porch of a residence along Clearfield Street. According to tracking records, police found that the package was delivered; however, it was not there when the owner arrived at the residence.
- Police responded to a parking complaint along East Locust Street. As a result, police issued a ticket for parking on private property.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance between a male and a female on Walnut Street. Upon arrival police made contact with the occupants who admitted to being involved in a verbal argument. Police were unable to detect any signs of physical violence while investigating the incident.
- Police unlocked a vehicle along North Second Street after the owner had locked the keys inside of it.
- Police responded to West Walnut Street for a male who was allegedly lying inside an apartment from which smoke was coming out of. Upon arrival police and emergency personnel located a male who had fallen from his wheelchair while cooking.
- Police received a report about a suspicious vehicle on Stewart Avenue. Upon arrival police located the vehicle and an occupant. The occupant advised he was waiting for a friend to return to the vehicle, police said.
- Police responded to Duke Street where vehicle lights were shining into a residence. Upon arrival police searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle.
- Police responded to North Second Street to assist emergency personnel with a patient who had overdosed on medication. The patient was assisted into the ambulance and transported to the hospital for treatment, police said.
- Police responded to East End where a vehicle was allegedly being driven recklessly. Upon arrival police were unable to locate the vehicle.
- Police handled an alleged incident of harassment via communications.
- Police were notified about a vehicle that had become disabled along Stadium Drive.
- Police received a report about a disabled vehicle along Park Avenue. The driver told police that the brakes had gone out on her vehicle.
- Police received a report about an alleged disturbance between a male and a female on West Fifth Street. Upon arrival police found that a male and female were having a verbal argument over a set of keys. They were advised of the complaint, police said.
- Police responded to Witmer Street for a possible fire. Upon arrival police were unable to locate anything in regards to a fire.
- Police responded to Third Street for a parking complaint. The caller reported that he was blocked in and was unable to leave, police said.
- A speaker was located in the middle of the roadway along Leavy Avenue. The owner can claim the speaker by calling police.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on North Third Street. No injuries were reported and one vehicle had to be towed from the scene, police said.
- Police responded to Ogden Avenue for a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival police found a caretaker there doing work to a residence.
Lawrence Township
- Police received a report about someone locking their keys and animal inside of their vehicle. Further, police assisted a towing service at the scene.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of retail theft that had occurred on an earlier date at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. The suspect is known and charges are pending at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an unresponsive male inside a vehicle at an apartment complex. Upon arrival police found that the male was alert and didn’t need any medical treatment.
- Police received a report about a suspicious juvenile in the Hyde area. Upon arrival police searched the area but couldn’t locate anyone.
- Police received a report about an alleged assault in the Golden Rod area. Upon arrival to the scene, police found the victims didn’t want to pursue criminal charges.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of criminal mischief on Flegal Road.
- Police received a report about a hit-and-run accident on Goshen Road. However, police were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.
- Police received a report about an alarm at Gambro.
- Police received a report about loose horses on Kaufman Road.
- Police received a report about a missing person in the Hyde area. The person was located, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged incident of public drunkenness on Washington Avenue.
- Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident on the Glen Richey Highway. A driver was transported to the hospital and the vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
- Police received a report about a psychological emergency on George Road.
- Police received a report about a residential alarm. Upon arrival to the scene, police found the residence occupied by the owner.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Valley View Drive. Charges are currently pending at this time, police said.
DuBois City
- Police received a report about an alarm Friday at Tractor Supply on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
- Police received a report about a truck driver who refused to leave DuBois Logistics on Friday. Upon police arrival, the driver left without incident.
- Police received a report about an alarm Saturday at Cataldo’s Collision on Division Street. Upon arrival police found an employee had accidentally activated the alarm.
- On Saturday, someone allegedly struck a 2011 Jeep Compass while it was parked at Martin’s Grocery. The Jeep sustained damage to its rear lights and bumper. The driver of the suspect vehicle left without providing any information, and the accident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Saturday in the 500 block of Spring Avenue. It involved three people and the custody of a child. There wasn’t any physical contact during the dispute, which didn’t result in any arrests, police said.
- On Sunday, police stopped a 42-year-old DuBois woman for traffic violations. Upon investigation police allegedly found she’d been consuming alcohol. She was subsequently arrested for DUI; charges are currently pending toxicology test results, police said.
- Police received reports for three, separate alarms Sunday at Tractor Supply on Beaver Drive. Upon arrival each time, police found everything to be OK.
- On Sunday, police received a report about a 42-year-old Brookville man who allegedly assaulted another man at a residence in the 500 block of Spring Avenue. Upon investigation police found the accused, Frederick Foster, had a warrant for his arrest through Clearfield County. He was taken into custody and lodged at the Clearfield County Jail. Additional assault charges will be filed against Foster, police said.
- Police received a report about an alarm Sunday at Kohlhepp’s on DuBois Street. Upon arrival police were advised that everything was OK.
Sandy Township
- On Friday, a 20-year-old DuBois man attempted to turn left from the straight lane at the intersection of Shaffer Road and Bee Line Highway. His vehicle subsequently hit another driven by a 53-year-old Penfield woman. No injuries and minor damage were reported, police said.
- A 41-year-old Treasure Lake man lost control of his vehicle Friday at the intersection of Anguilla and Fort De France roads. His vehicle subsequently hit a stop sign. The man had spoken to Treasure Lake Security and left the scene prior to police arrival.
- On Friday, a Treasure Lake woman reported that her estranged husband was at a basketball game at DuBois Central Catholic School, and she has a protection from abuse order against him. Police spoke to both parties and handled the situation without incident.
- On Friday, a 53-year-old New Hampshire man stated he was unfamiliar with the area and attempted to turn from the wrong lane while at the intersection of the Bee Line Highway and Shaffer Road. He subsequently hit a vehicle driven by a 92-year-old DuBois man. No injuries and minor to moderate damage were reported, police said.
- On Saturday, a 70-year-old Treasure Lake woman reported that she had paid $2,400 to a local man to do work on her home. He had insisted on payment in cash, and then never completed the work. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
- A 56-year-old DuBois man was pulling from a parking space in the Wal-Mart parking lot and hit a vehicle driven by a 79-year-old DuBois man on Saturday. No injuries and minor to moderate damage were reported, police said.
- A false alarm occurred Saturday at FedEX.
- A tractor-trailer backed into another tractor-trailer Saturday at the Pilot parking lot. Minor damage and no injuries were reported, police said.
- A Circle Road resident reported that her neighbor’s dog was outside barking on Saturday. The dog was inside and quiet upon police arrival.
- A false alarm occurred Saturday at FedEx.
- An 18-year-old DuBois girl reported receiving unwanted text messages from her father on Saturday. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 52-year-old Treasure Lake man requested that police check the welfare of his 73-year-old mother Saturday at her Treasure Lake home. Police handled the situation without incident.
- A 45-year-old Fire Tower Road resident reported that a vehicle hit and damaged her fence on Sunday. It then left the scene.
- On Sunday, K-Mart Loss Prevention reported two, separate retail thefts that they had on video. The incidents remain under investigation at this time, police said.
- An 87-year-old Reynoldsville woman pulled into the intersection of Midway and Commons Drive and into the path of a vehicle driven by a 68-year-old DuBois man, causing the two vehicles to collide on Sunday. No injuries were reported, and one of the vehicles was towed from the scene, police said.
- A vehicle driven by a 38-year-old Circle Road woman hit a residence on Bad Dog Road, causing damage to both the house and the vehicle on Sunday. No injuries were reported, police said.
