Ritz Theater, downtown Clearfield

Trees of Giving

Individuals can bring a canned food item(s) and place them in the box of your favorite store’s tree through Friday, Dec. 12. The DuBois Mall is located at 5522 Shaffer Rd., Suite 122, DuBois.

DuBois Area Historical Society

Hoss’s Steak & Sea House

Friday, Dec. 12

On Friday, Dec. 12, the DuBois Area Historical Society will hold a fundraiser all day at the Hoss’s Steak & Sea House, DuBois. You can get a voucher from any board member or from the society’s Web site.

10 Keys to Healthy Aging Workshops

Curwensville Community Center

Friday, Dec. 12

You can take ownership of your health and attend educational workshops to learn about the 10 Keys to healthy aging and the many no-cost and low-cost preventative services provided by Medicare to help keep you healthy. The free workshops are taught by certified health ambassadors and APPRISE counselors at the Curwensville Community Center.

A Christmas Story

Reitz Theater

The Reitz Theater in DuBois will conclude its 2014 season with Jean Shepherd’s holiday classic, A Christmas Story on Dec. 11-13 at 7:30 p.m.

This year’s production will also include a toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots. Those attending are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the show.

Tickets are $10 for adults, seniors and students are $8 and Kids 12 and under are $5. Tickets are available at Kohlhepp’s True Value Hardware, Rosie’s Book Shop, Ms. Cat’s Cache and S&T Bank on Liberty Boulevard, all located in DuBois.

On Friday, Dec. 12, there will be a Christmas music program at the Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre. The program will feature performances by Cross 5 and Two for One; it will also include giveaways and intermission snacks.

The Christmas music program starts at 7 p.m. and doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Admission is $10 per adult, $5 for 16 years and under and free for 5 years and under. Tickets will be available at the door and in advance by calling the CAST at 814-765-4474.

Isaiah Jones and the Seekers of the Lost Christmas Treasure

The Hyde Wesleyan Church in Clearfield will present Isaiah Jones and the Seekers of the Lost Christmas Treasure at 10 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 14.

Performed by the children, this musical features “Isaiah Jones” as a young hero adventurer who finds himself and his friends inside a video game, searching for the “Lost Christmas Treasure.”

There’s action and adventure galore as you’re transported into a video game world or mystery, intrigue and adrenaline-generating Christmas fun.  This production includes dancing cacti, sand princesses, soloists, gummy worms and the traditional “manger scene” characters.

A spaghetti dinner will be served from 4 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. every Thursday, except for holidays, at the Curwensville Community Center. The Italian dinner will include spaghetti, meatballs, salad and Italian bread.  Admission is $6 per adult and $2 per child; both dine-in and take-out will be available. The Curwensville Community Center is located at 11 Stadium Dr., Curwensville.
