Elk Dems to Host Open House, Voter Registration Drive

ST. MARYS – The Elk County Democratic Committee will host an open house and voter registration drive at its General Election Headquarters from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday.

The headquarters is located at 11 Railroad St. in downtown St. Marys. It will be open weekdays, starting Oct. 6 through Election Day on Nov. 4.

In addition to serving light refreshments at the open house, the committee will have registration forms on hand for new voters in advance of the Oct. 6 deadline to register for the 2014 general election.

There will also be yard signs and information about candidates for office – Tom Wolf/Mike Stack, Democratic candidates for Governor and Lieutenant Governor; Kerith Strano Taylor for Congress; and Jack Donahue for State Representative.

Interested voters and eligible unregistered county residents are encouraged to attend the open house.

Hours of operation will vary throughout the month with both day and evening hours planned. The committee also plans to host evening and weekend phone banking and canvassing events at the headquarters in the lead up to the election.
