Democratic Picnic Slated for July 12

BENEZETTE – The first-ever Elk Country Multi-County Democratic Picnic will be held July 12 at the Dudley Farm in Benezette.

Sponsored by the Elk County Democratic Committee, the picnic will feature a catered dinner, as well as addresses from state and federal candidates.

The picnic starts at 1 p.m. with dinner to be served at 3 p.m. Tickets are $10.

The farm is located a half-mile from the entrance to the Elk Country Visitors Center, a state-of-the-art facility showcasing the only free-ranging elk herd east of the Mississippi River.  The center is open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. that day.

Among those scheduled to speak include local State Representative candidates Jack Donahue (PA-75) and Toby Santik (PA-66), U.S. House (PA-5) candidate Kerith Strano Taylor, Admiral Joe Sestak and Elk County District Attorney Shawn McMahon.
