CLEARFIELD – The Write and Illustrate Your Own Book Contest, co-sponsored by the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library and the Penn State Student Teachers, was held during the 2013-14 school year.

Students in the first through fifth grades from across the Clearfield Area School District were invited to submit a book they authored and illustrated. Recently, a reception was held to honor the winners and honorable mention recipients.

At the reception, all honorees received a certificate, a bound copy of their winning entry and a journal. The winning books will be cataloged and become part of the Shaw Public Library youth collection.
