Dorothy L. ‘Dot’ Kelly, 94, of Clearfield died Sunday, Oct. 20, 2013 at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was born Sept. 2, 1919 in Glen Richey, a daughter of the late Stanley R. and Mary (Richards) Thompson.
Mrs. Kelly retired in 1980 from the Penshire Clothing Store. She also had volunteered as an escort at the Clearfield Hospital.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Clearfield, where she had held many offices, including deaconess and Sunday school secretary and treasurer. She was also a past member of the KTTC.
She is survived by her son, Daniel M. Kelly and his wife, Pamela G. of Clearfield; six grandchildren, Amy Holland, Stephanie Kelly, Laura Kelly, Elizabeth Kelly, Casey Davis and Trampas Carns; many great grandchildren; and two brothers, Barton Thompson of Clearfield and Sylvester ‘Pete’ G. Thompson and his wife, Marjorie of Titusville.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, F. Blair Kelly on Nov. 7, 2009 and whom she wed July 5, 1941 in Winchester, VA. She was also preceded in death by great-granddaughter and two brothers, John A. and Richard S. Thompson.
In accordance to Mrs. Kelly’s wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in the Thompson Cemetery, Glen Richey.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Suite D, Altoona, PA 16601.
