Library Accepting Registrations for Fall Story Session

CLEARFIELD – The Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library is currently accepting registrations for its fall story session.  In A Story of Colors, preschool-aged children will experience a rainbow of colors through stories, games, crafts and music.

The PA Forward initiative, launched by the Pennsylvania Library Association (PaLA) in 2012, supports the efforts of libraries across the state as leaders in community education.  The five literacies of PA Forward will help guide discussions within the fall story session theme.  With each week’s discussion of color, children will experience at least one of the five literacies as part of the PA Forward | Pennsylvania Libraries initiative.

The eight-week program begins Sept. 9.  Shaw Public Library is offering baby time, toddler time and story time sessions to all area preschoolers ages six months through 5 years of age.  Baby time classes are open to children ages six months through 2 years on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.  Toddler time classes, for children ages 2 to 3 years, will follow on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:15 a.m. until 12 p.m.

On Tuesdays, there will be two story time classes offered for 4 and 5 year old children.  The first Story Time class will be held from 10:30 a.m. until 11: 30 a.m. and the second will be held from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.

Parents and guardians may contact the library to register for any of the above programs.  There will be several special programs during the eight-week session that may require separate registration.  A calendar with dates and times for each program will also be available to interested families.  The calendar will feature the color theme for each week in order to allow children to dress in the celebrated color for each session.
