An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime between March 1 and Friday on Oknefski Road in Ridgway Township. Someone removed a copper apple butter cauldron and yellow Romex electrical wire from the front porch and a rear of a concession stand before fleeing the scene.
On Friday someone removed a black wallet from an outside chair in front of the Family Dollar Store in Ridgway Township, while the victim was disposing of an ice cream cone.
The investigation is continuing into a fire that occurred at 6:02 p.m. Friday near the intersection of South and Irvin streets in Ridgway Borough. The fire damaged a storage building that housed salt used for winter road maintenance along with two, adjacent storage buildings. Damage is estimated at $35,000.

An incident of retail theft occurred July 22 at the Wal-Mart Supercenter in Fox Township. As a result of the incident, a 23-year-old St. Marys man was arrested for removing $19.88 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it. Charges were filed through the district court.
