William B. Yope, 101, formerly of Smithmill and Cleveland, OH, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at St. Paul, Minnesota. He was born Jan. 10, 1912, at Beccaria, a son of the late Thomas and Helen (Holobinko) Yope.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and worked as a machinist in Cleveland, OH for many years.
On May 16, 1953, in Cleveland, OH, he married Margaret M. (Duke) Yope, who preceded him in death Aug. 4, 2000.
He’s survived by a daughter, Patti Halm and her husband, Frank of St. Paul, MN and a grandson, Jack Halm.
He’s survived by a three sisters and a brother, Ann Dore of Smithmill, Mary Fudrow of Tyrone, Susan Vescio of Yonkers, NY and Joseph Yope of Industry; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Yope and three brothers, Thomas, Frank and John Yope.
Friends will be received from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Kruise Funeral
Home Inc., Ramey. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 a.m. in Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ramey with Fr. Zab Amar as celebrant.
Burial will be made in Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Ramey.
