HARRISBURG – Gov.  Tom Corbett today joined a nationwide tribute to the victims of Monday’s explosions at the Boston Marathon by immediately asking that Pennsylvania flags be lowered to half-staff.

Earlier today, the president ordered all United States flags to be lowered at all government buildings out of respect for the victims. Joining in this tribute, Pennsylvania flags will also be lowered at all state facilities across the commonwealth.

The flags will remain at half-staff through sunset on Saturday, April 20.

“On behalf of all the people of Pennsylvania, our thoughts and prayers are with the people of Boston and all the victims of this horrific act of violence,” Corbett said.

All Pennsylvanians are invited to join in this tribute.
