CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of April 1.
Shaw identified the fugitive as Lorne Edward Mesa Peters, 40, of Palmer Street, Clearfield. Peters is wanted for failure to appear at ARD Court on Jan. 22.
On Feb. 23, 2012, Trooper Brian Elensky of the Pennsylvania State Police, Clearfield barracks, filed a criminal complaint, charging Peters with driving under the influence of alcohol, careless driving and additional parking regulations.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Elensky states that on Feb. 15, 2012, while on routine patrol, troopers observed a vehicle parked on state Route 879 in Lawrence Township. Upon making contact with the driver, Elensky detected signs of impairment and requested that Peters perform field sobriety tests. After administering the field sobriety tests, Peters was transported to the Pennsylvania State Police barracks for breath testing.
A preliminary hearing was scheduled for April 11, 2012, at which time all charges were held for court. On Jan. 22, Peters failed to appear for ARD Court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Peters is described as a Caucasian male who stands 6 feet, 1-inch tall. He’s bald with hazel eyes.
Anyone with knowledge of Peters’ location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
