Spring heralds the return of the outdoor activities many of us have been missing during the cold and dark winter months. But spring weather is unpredictable, and that can make for an irregular workout routine.

In this episode of “Project Health,” Dr. Matt Silvis, family and community medicine, orthopaedics, give you some basic tips for what you can do indoors or at home to stay active when outdoor exercise just isn’t possible.

Everyone wants to be healthy. Generally speaking, most of us know that regular exercise, good nutrition and avoiding or breaking bad habits –like smoking — lead to better health. Unfortunately there’s also a fair amount of conflicting or confusing health advice to be found online or through other sources. Penn State Hershey Medical Center brings you “Project Health” to help you find the right information to keep you and your family safe and healthy.

In central Pennsylvania, tune in to WGAL-TV 8 each week for segments on health, nutrition and prevention. If you miss a segment or aren’t in the WGAL viewing area, the latest segment can be found on our website along with other reliable health advice to help you make the right choices.

The Medical Minute is a weekly health news feature brought to you by Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. Articles feature the expertise of Penn State Hershey faculty physicians and staff and are designed to offer timely, relevant health information of interest to a broad audience.
