Charles F. Laskowsky Sr., 82, of Houtzdale died Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at the Mountain Laurel Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Clearfield.
He was born Aug. 14, 1930 at Morann, a son of the late James and Mildred (Warzasak) Laskowsky.Â
He was a parishioner of St. Barbara’s National Catholic Church, Houtzdale, where he was a member of the Young Men Society of the Resurrection. He also was a member of the Morann Citizens Club and Morann Rod and Gun Club.
He served in the U.S. Navy and was a car salesman for various area dealerships. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.
On Nov. 8, 1951 in the former St. Barbara’s Catholic Church, Houtzdale, he married Maxine J. (Lindenberg) Laskowsky, who survives of Philipsburg.
He is survived by children, Randy Laskowsky and his wife, Pam, Gary Laskowsky and Charles Laskowsky Jr., all of Ginter; Terry Laskowsky and his wife, Sharon and Robin Bush and her husband, Richard, all of Osceola Mills; and Ricky Laskowsky and his wife, Tammy of Houtzdale; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He’s survived by a sister, Madeline Saupp of Houtzdale and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Victoria Andrako, Catherine “Tubby” Rusnak and Patricia Laskowsky; four brothers, James, Martin, Michael “Bugs” and Francis “Fuzzy” Laskowsky.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. – 10:15 a.m. Monday at the Kruise Funeral Home Inc., Ramey. A vigil service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Fr. Scott Lill officiating.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Barbara’s National Catholic Church, Houtzdale, with Fr. Scott J. Lill as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Barbara’s Cemetery, Houtzdale. Â
