Arman F. Bonante, 88, of Punxsutawney died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012 at the DuBois Regional Medical Center. Born Dec. 28, 1923 in Troutville, he was the son of the late Andrew and Pompa (Rubino) Bonante.Â
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army in the European Theater.
On June 24, 1944, he married Bessie M. (Frantz) Bonante. She survives.
For 53 years, he was the owner and operator of Bonante’s Garage in Sykesville.Â
He attended Grace United Methodist Church in Sykesville for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion in Sykesville. He enjoyed the restoration of older antique cars.
He is survived by five children Judy Sharp and her husband, Harry; Jill Hazuda and her husband, Richard; and Michael Bonante, all of Sykesville, and Arman Bonante Jr. and his wife, Laurie and June Bonante, all of Reynoldsville; two brothers, John Bonante of Erie and James Bonante and his wife, Marion of Punxsutawney; a sister, Lucy McKee of Erie; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Wells Bonante; a brother, Frank Bonante; and a sister, Nancy Bonante.
Friends will be received from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor Deb Rogosky officiating.
Burial will be in Troutville Trinity United Church of Christ Cemetery.
