Fire Destroys Garage in Fox Township

FOX TOWNSHIP – A fire completely destroyed a three-stall garage and the truck inside it after igniting at 7:15 a.m. Monday at 620 Toby Rd. in Fox Township, according to the Ridgway-based state police.

The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal and the Fox Township Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of the fire. The fire destroyed a 48-foot by 36-foot, wooden frame, three-stall garage.

The garage was completely destroyed by the fire, as well as a 2003 Nissan truck owned by Robert E. Kline, 63, of Kersey. The fire also damaged his residence, which was located next to the garage, state police said.

No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Damage is estimated at more than $125,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time, state police said.

The Fox Township Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Horton Township and Crystal fire departments and the Fox Township Ambulance Service.
