Two Charged for Hetrick Road Burglary in Sandy Twp.

SANDY TOWNSHIP – After returning to their residence Nov. 9, a Hetrick Road couple discovered that someone had forced entry through the back door, ransacked the residence and removed several guns, ammunition and fishing gear, according to the Sandy Township police.

While investigating the incident, police observed an 18-year-old man exit a residence. He was wearing a camouflage coat and acting suspiciously. 

Police found the man with two stolen guns in his possession.  He admitted to getting the guns from a 16-year-old boy at the residence from which he’d just left.  He told police the guns had been stolen and Ryan A. Bussard, 23, of Sykesville had purchased them despite knowing so.

Bussard was located at his residence and taken into custody. He’s been charged with receiving stolen property. He admitting to knowing the guns had been stolen.

Police then contacted the 16-year-old boy at his residence. They recovered the remaining stolen items in the boy’s possession. The boy was arrested and charges of criminal trespass, burglary and theft by unlawful taking were filed against him.
