BELLEFONTE – Interstate 80 bridge preservation work in Centre County is winding down. This week will first bring lane restriction changes and then lane restriction removal. All work is weather and schedule dependent. Various work zones between mile-markers 159 and 167 are affected as noted below:
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the left/passing lanes will be closed eastbound and westbound between the 159 and 161 mile-markers. Traffic will be switched to the right/travel lanes. Weather permitting, all lane restrictions in the work zones will be removed by the end of the day Friday, Nov. 16. Work on the I-80 bridges will continue underneath, from Route 26. Through the end of the year, drivers may encounter shoulder closures and brief stops on Route 26. These delays will be enforced by flaggers during daylight hours.
