Man Cited for Underage Consumption after Decatur Township Accident

DECATUR TOWNSHIP – A 19-year-old Madera man sustained minor injuries and was cited for numerous violations, including underage consumption, after a single-vehicle accident at 4:51 a.m. Saturday on state Route 53 near Electric Avenue in Decatur Township, according to the Clearfield-based state police.

The man was traveling westbound and negotiating a right-hand curve in the roadway. A deer then entered directly in the path of his vehicle. The man attempted to avoid striking the deer by maneuvering his vehicle into the eastbound lane at which point he lost control. He subsequently collided with an embankment.

The man sustained minor injuries; he was wearing his seatbelt. His vehicle was towed from the scene. He was cited for numerous vehicle code violations, in addition to underage consumption.
