State Police Probing Armed Robbery in Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – The Philipsburg-based state police are probing an armed robbery that occurred at approximately 9 p.m. Monday at the Minit-Mart on North Front Street in Philipsburg Borough.

A male entered the store and brandished a silver and black pistol. The suspect then demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk.

State police said the suspect was described as a heavy-set Caucasian male. He had dark hair and was wearing a camouflage ski mask and gloves. He was believed to be wearing a brown jacket with camouflage sleeves.

The suspect was confronted by a bystander outside the store. However, he escaped with an undetermined amount of money.
