Frank L. “Diddie” Butler, 86, of Clearfield died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Butler was born June 29, 1926, the son of Guard and Dolly (Stevens) Butler.
He retired as the manager of the meat department from the former A&P Co. in
Mr. Butler was affiliated with the West Side United Methodist Church of Clearfield.
He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran and served during World War II.
Mr. Butler enjoyed bowling, bow hunting and playing baseball.
Mr. Butler is survived by his wife, Anna Mae (Graham) Butler, whom he married on
Dec. 24, 1946; a daughter, Cheryl Luce and her husband, Bill of Aiken, SC; a granddaughter, Noelle Naumann and her husband, Wolfe of Columbia, SC and a sister, Mary Jane Hanson of Isaquah, WA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alfred, Robert and William Butler and two sisters, Jessie Robinson and Doris Werneth.
Honoring Mr. Butler’s wishes there will be no public visitation or services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Joseph and Elizabeth Shaw Public Library, 1 S. Front St., Clearfield, PA 16830.
The Bennett and Houser Funeral Home Inc., of Clearfield is in charge of the arrangements.
