Motorcycle Rider Killed after Striking Pick-up Truck

UNION TOWNSHIP – A motorcycle rider was killed after striking a Dodge Ram pick-up at 6 a.m. today in the 1800 block of South Eagle Valley Road in Union Township.

The Philipsburg-based state police identified the motorcyclist as Demarcus Shakarian Locklear of Bellefonte. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Centre County Coroner.

Locklear was traveling southbound and passing another vehicle in the northbound lane. Barry James Walk of Julian was traveling northbound when his pick-up truck was struck by the Locklear motorcycle in the front bumper area.

The motorcycle and the pick-up truck sustained disabling damage as a result. No further information was released in the state police report.
