An incident of DUI occurred at 12:54 a.m. Sunday along state Route 255 in Jay Township, Elk County. A 52-year-old Dagus Mines was stopped for a traffic violation. While speaking with him, state police detected a strong odor of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested for DUI and other summary charges that were filed through the district court.
Minor injuries were reported following a single-vehicle accident at 7:15 a.m. Friday along SR 153 in Fox Township, Elk County. A 24-year-old Weedville woman was traveling northbound and negotiating a left-hand curve in the roadway. She lost control of her vehicle, causing it to strike the guiderails along the eastern side. Her vehicle continued northbound and began to rotate in a clockwise direction, where it struck the eastern guiderails a second time. At that point, it crossed the roadway and struck the western guiderails and came to a rest upon impact. The woman was transported to the DuBois Regional Medical Center by Bennetts Valley Ambulance. She’ll be cited for careless driving.
