Doris B. Cochran, 89, of DuBois died Friday at her home surrounded by her children and beloved cat, Sophie.
Born Aug. 7, 1922 in Ivyland, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Carrie E. (Stahlnecker) Beidler.
She was married to Dr. Bryce C. Cochran. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She graduated first in her class from Abington Memorial Hospital Nursing School, where she received a degree as a registered nurse and a nurse anesthetist.
She was a homemaker who loved to garden, watch birds and entertain friends and family.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church of Our Savior and was a past member of the DuBois Country Club.
She is survived by two children, Molly A. Cochran of Newport News, VA and Dr. James B. Cochran of Naples, FL and one brother, Richard S. Beidler of Lancaster, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother, James Beidler.
A private family viewing will be held.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Episcopal Church of Our Savior with Fr. Robert McKay officiating.
Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery.
