TYRONE – Four Clearfield Area High School basketball players were selected for the 2011-2012 Mountain League Allegheny Division all-star teams announced Monday night.
Senior Robbie Myers and junior Breanna Peters received first-team honors while junior Trey Jordan and senior Lisa Ambuski were accorded second team laurels in balloting by the head coaches, who nominated players from their own teams but were not allowed to vote for them.
Myers, a 6-3 center, topped the 8-15 Bisons in scoring with 346 points, a 15.0 average, and 192 rebounds. He made 134 of his 261 shots from the floor for 51.3 percent and canned 77 of 113 free throws for 68.1 percent.
Senior Richard Crabtree of division and league champion Tyrone was named Most Valuable Player for the boys team.
Myers was joined on the all-senior first team by Cole Curtis of Philipsburg-Osceola, Steve Franco of Tyrone, Ralph Zoerner of Huntingdon and Brandon Myers of Central.
Jordan was one of eight players tabbed for the second team.
The 5-11 guard was Clearfield’s No. 3 scorer with 174 points and grabbed 60 rebounds.
Also on the second team are sophomore Brandon Gripp and junior Charles Wilson-Adams, seniors Ryan Ritchey, Houston Riley and Cody Neymen of Huntingdon and senior Matt Ritchey and soph  Austin Cunningham of Central.
The 5-9 Peters was a force in the low post for the 15-8 Lady Bisons.
She poured in a team-high 353 points and pulled down 250 rebounds to average a double-double of 15.3 and 10.9.
Central senior Lindsey Smith was the girls MVP, with senior Lauren Simcox of Philipsburg-Osceola, senior Olivia Stever and sophomore Jordyn Swogger of Tyrone and junior Tara Smith of Huntingdon the other first teamers.
Ambuski, a 5-5 point guard, averaged nine points and more than four assists per game for the Lady Bisons. She scored 207 points, including a team-high 32 three-pointers, and dished out 99 assists.
Tyrone juniors Nicole Gripp and Alayna Hettinger, Huntingdon senior Aaren Sellers and Central senior Sarabeth Bean also made the second team, while junior Briana Rusnak and freshman Abby Showers of Philipsburg-Osceola were accorded honorable mention.
Both Clearfield teams finished 4-4 against division opponents.
The Tyrone teams swept the division and league championships.
The Eagles beat Central Mountain 59-38 and the Lady Eagles defeated Bald Eagle Area 54-37 in the title games.
