RIDGWAY – According to Gant news partner WJACTV.com, Thursday night crews were dispatched to the Ridgway Reservoir in Ridgway Township.
Initial reports indicated a body would possibly be in the reservoir. State police and search-and-rescue crews were activated to respond to the scene after 10 p.m.
Ridgway Fire Chief, John Wygant, told 6 News reporter Brittany Boyer that the body of a 64-year-old man was recovered from the reservoir.
Wygant said family members contacted authorities after the man did not return home.
Officials believe the man, whose name has not yet been released, was ice fishing.
The man’s brother told 6 News reporter Brittany Boyer that his brother was the ‘outdoorsy’ type.
