DuBois: Downtown Neighborhood Christmas Decorating Contest Winners Announced

DUBOIS – And the winners are…The Lauver Family at 304 E. Scribner with the Most Elaborate (pictured above), the Wean Family at 153 E. Long Ave. with a Family-Friendly display,   and the Manners Family at 2 N. Highland with Most Creative.  The winners received gift certificates from Kohlhepp’s True Value and Stew’s Brew Coffeehouse. 

Contest organizers are concerned folks interested in improving the residential area adjacent to downtown DuBois.  The broad parameters of the area are from Park Ave. to Olive Ave. and Highland to Main St.  The group has been meeting on a regular basis and has several things in the works including a spring Historic Home Open House, Curb Appeal Contest, applying for a state Elm Street grant and a preservation/restoration workshop in the fall.  Completed projects include a large-item clean up, improved camaraderie amongst residents and this contest.
