PURCHASE LINE — Wednesday night the Bisons were able to hold off a late charge by the Purchase Line Dragons to win yet another Purchase Line Lions Club Holiday Tournament crown with a 41-35 victory. The win marks the 9th win in 10 years for the Bisons in the annual tournament.

For the second consecutive night the Bisons jumped out to an early first quarter lead and never looked back.

Christian Lezzer and Robbie Myers paced the Bisons in the frame with five and seven points respectively. Lezzer would finish the night with 12 points, while Myers poured in a team high 16 on his way to tournament MVP. Lezzer and Trey Jordan also received honors making the All-Tournament Team. At the end of one the Bisons lead 14-7

In the second quarter Clearfield was outscored, but was able to still maintain a 21-15 lead at the half. Once again Lezzer and Meyers lead the Bisons in the second scoring all three Bison buckets.

The Bisons low scoring carried into the second half as once again they were outscored in the third quarter but still clung to a 27-22 lead. Meyers and Shawn Lord had the lone field goals in the quarter.

The fourth quarter brought some excitement to the crowd as the Bisons were unable to make their free throws to close out the game and kept things interesting. In the end however the Bisons would hold on for their fourth straight victory.

The Bisons (4-2) will be back in action on Tuesday January 3 when they travel to take on Tyrone.
