The joyful sound of children’s voices lifted the spirits of the residents of Henry Myers Towers ‘High Rise’ in Clearfield on Wednesday evening. The Boy Scouts of Pack 9 sang joyful songs of the holiday season and encouraged the residents of the High Rise, as well as their parents to sing along.
Pack 9 began by saying the Pledge of Allegiance and then the Boy Scout Promise. Fifth grader Max Forcey accompanied the carolers on the piano for many of the songs. Pack 9 sang many traditional Christmas carols such as Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, The First Noel, Silent Night and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, to name a few. Following We Wish You a Merry Christmas, there was applause and smiles on every face in the room.
Following the caroling, Pack 9 and their families distributed Christmas cookies and milk, then gifts for the residents. With many left over gifts, some of the older scouts went door to door and gave gifts to residents that were in their apartments.
