HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania departments of General Services and Transportation announced the acquisition of a vacant parcel of land in the Fireman’s Commerce Park in Lawrence Township, Clearfield County, to house a new engineering office in PennDOT’s District 2-0.
The nearly 9.5-acre parcel of land was purchased for $800,000 from the Clearfield Foundation and is in close proximity to the existing engineering office. The Department of General Services now will begin the design phase of the project.
“We are pleased to have the land acquisition phase of this project completed,” Secretary of the Department of General Services Sheri Phillips said. “Now we can move into the design phase of a project that will give PennDOT a new engineering facility, and provide Clearfield County’s economy a much-needed boost.”
Transportation Secretary Barry J. Schoch thanked DGS for its work on the project.
“PennDOT is pleased to see this project moving forward,” said Schoch. “By modernizing our facilities, PennDOT will be better able to deliver on our commitment to provide exceptional customer service to Pennsylvania residents.”
