Obituary Notice: Rose Marie Ferraraccio

Rose Marie Ferraraccio, age 91, formerly of Spring Avenue in DuBois, PA died July 31, 2011 at Christ the King Manor.

She was born on March 12, 1920 in DuBois, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph A. & Helen (Cook) Schalk.

On June 14, 1935, she married John Rubino Ferraraccio.  He preceded her in death on March 17, 1998.

She was a homemaker and co-owner of Ferraraccio Bros. Service Station on Franklin Street in DuBois, PA.

She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society.  She was also an organist, choir director and sacristan at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church.  She was one of the founding members of the Kitchenaires and a past member of the Nautilus Club.  She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. 

She is survived by her son, Blaise J. Ferraraccio and his wife, Linda of DuBois, PA and her daughter, Helen Marie Ferraraccio of Carnegie, PA, two grandchildren, Marissa D. Ferraraccio and John F. Ferraraccio, and numerous nieces and nephews. 

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Joseph H. “Bud” Schalk and one granddaughter, Lawren Ferraraccio.

Visitation will be held on Aug. 2 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home in DuBois.

The rosary will be prayed on Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 p.m.

A Scriptural Wake Service will be held on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m. from the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Aug. 3 at 11 a.m. from St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer and Fr. Thomas Hoderny con celebrating.

Burial will follow in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.

Memorials may be placed with the DuBois Area Catholic School, P.O. Box 567, DuBois, PA 15801 and/or Christ the King Manor, 1100 West Long Avenue, DuBois, PA 15801.
