Three-day Detour This Week on Route 3002 Pipe Replacement Project

CLEARFIELD – Pipe replacement work is continuing on Route 3002 (Laurel Mills Road) just north of the village of Hallton in Spring Creek Township, Elk County.

Starting Tuesday, June 7, a three-day detour on the project will be in place. The detour is necessary so that excavation, pipe installation and roadway reconstruction work can take place. The official detour is lengthy and makes use of Routes 949, 3001(Belltown Road) and 3002.

The contractor on the $270,000 project is Horizon Construction Group Inc. of Sandy Lake. Work is expected to be complete by mid-August. The remainder of the work will be done using flaggers and alternating traffic patterns. Work includes pipe replacement, roadway repair, end-wall repair and guide rail replacement. All work is weather dependent.

Drivers are reminded to obey posted speed limits, follow detour signs, and always buckle up.
