Upon stopping the vehicle, Young detected signs of impairment and requested that Day perform field sobriety tests. Day was then transported to DRMC for blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Feb. 20, 2009, at which time all charges were held for Court. On May 11, 2010, Day failed to appear for sentencing court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Shaw stated that an anonymous tip provided the location of Day in Brockport, Jefferson County.

On March 1, 2011, Troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police in Ridgway apprehended Day, and he was taken into custody without incident. Day is currently lodged in the Clearfield County jail.

Shaw acknowledged that Day was located as the direct result of citizens willing to provide information to law enforcement. Shaw thanked the Pennsylvania State Police and the Clearfield County Sheriff’s Office for their hard work and assistance with this case.
