The Last Word

Chris:” I know that JoePa has a solid record in bowl games, but I think Meyer’s gang will be fired up for his final game. Look for Oregon to pull a mild upset in the BCS title game.”

Jay: “The Big 12 and Big East are weak and they are showing it in the bowls. About the only time they can win is when they play each other! SEC and Big 10 have some nice battles set up for New Year’s Day. I’ll take the SEC in the National Championship game – as usual.”

Dustin: “You have a lot of interesting and intriguing things in the bowl games this year.  The PSU-Florida game stands out with Urban Meyer leaving and rumors about JoePa going around, then the Buckeyes having to deal with all the attention following the suspension of players for the beginning of 2011.  TCU is now on the big stage, and the grandest of all:  the Rose Bowl.  A great game between them and Wisconsin is absolutely guaranteed.

And then there’s the big one…Auburn against Oregon.  There won’t be a shortage of points in this game at all.  Two explosive offenses, and the grandest stage in college football.  I chose Oregon by the simplest of ways, a coin toss.  I literally couldn’t choose, either way would be too hard to pick.  So, I’m going with the Ducks over the Tigers.”

Rusty:” Sorry Big Ten, no one has been able to dominate the conference, so I don’t see many wins.  Wisconsin may have the best chance; Ohio St. has too many distractions – shame, shame.  I like the Ducks in the title game; the Heisman is just bulletin board material to pump them up.  Looking forward to seeing them all.”

Dave: “Picking bowls has not gone well for any of us so far this year, and many of these matchups are toss-ups as well. Auburn-Oregon is a game I’ve been looking forward to for weeks – I haven’t gotten much of a chance to watch the Ducks ‘blur’ offense and it will be interesting to see just how many points are scored in this game. With so much time off, will the offenses be rusty, or will they be fresh? I second Chris’ take on Penn State’s chances today.”
