CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney, William A. Shaw, Jr., announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of Oct. 4, 2010.
Shaw identified the Fugitive as Paul Brennam, age 39, of Hopkins Road, Irvona. Shaw stated that Brennam is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call on April 14, 2005.
On Sept. 17, 2004, Trooper John Brown of the Pennsylvania State Police, Woodland Barracks, filed a criminal complaint charging Brennam with: 1) driving under the influence of alcohol, M1; 2) driving on roadways laned for traffic, S; and 3) careless driving, S.
An affidavit of probable cause filed by Brown states that on Aug. 24, 2004, the State Police were dispatched to the area of Market Street, in Coalport Borough, for a report of a one vehicle crash. Upon arrival, Brown observed a 1983 GMC suburban on the side of the road adjacent to a utility pole. Brown further observed approximately forty feet of damaged fence line on the south side of the roadway. Brown further observed an open 12 oz Budweiser beer can inside the vehicle. Brennam was taken to the Altoona Hospital prior to police arrival. A witness at the scene identified Brennam as the driver of the vehicle.
A preliminary hearing was held on October 20, 2004, at which time Brennam waived the charges to Court. On April 14, 2005, Brennam failed to appear for Criminal Call and a warrant was issued for Brennam’s arrest.
