DuBois City Council Makes Two Proclamations

DUBOIS – The month of April has been proclaimed by the DuBois City Council as the month of “Parents Who Host, Lose the Most” and “Autism Awareness Month”.

“Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a Party to Teenage Drinking” is in response to adults who provide alcohol to people under the legal drinking age of 21-years old.  Anyone found giving alcohol to minors could face up to a $2,500 fine and one year in jail.  They could also face civil action as a result of any injury or damages related to the offense.

Autism is one of the fastest growing developmental disorders in the world that affects over one million Americans.“Autism Awareness Month” is meant to support an increased awareness in the challenges autism presents.  With the proper education, training, and community living options, it is believed that people with autism can lead productive lives in their communities.
