Snowmoblie Accident in LT Claims Curwensville Native’s Life

CLEARFIELD – The Lawrence Township Police Department is investigating an accident that claimed the life of a Curwensville native over the weekend.

According to police Dr. Josh Casteel of Punxsutawney lost his life as a result of a snowmobile accident on the McGeorge Road early Saturday morning. Police Chief Jeff Fink said that Casteel was traveling alongside the McGeorge Road when he struck a culvert with his snowmobile. This sent him airborne, and he then struck a tree. Fink said that when emergency responders arrived people on-scene were attempting CPR on Casteel.

According to Casteel’s obituary, he owned and operated the Casteel Chiropractic Center in Punxsutawney.

Fink said that Clearfield Emergency Medical Services and the Clearfield Borough Police Department also assisted at the scene.
