CLEARFIELD – A Clearfield resident faces 13 charges after allegedly kidnapping and assaulting a minor.
Glenn Robinson, 40, appeared before Magisterial District Judge Patrick Ford in DuBois Friday and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
He faces one count of kidnapping, one count of unlawful restraint, one count of interference with custody of children, one count of terroristic threats, two counts of simple assault, one count of indecent assault, one count of harassment, one count of driving with a suspended license, one count of persons not to posses, use, manufacture, control sell or transfer firearms, one count of false imprisonment, one count of concealing the location of a child and one count of luring a child into a motor vehicle.
Six of those are felonies.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Robinson picked up the girl near her residence in Clearfield Borough at 8:00 p.m. on July 24. Robinson told the girl that they were going to go get a dog for her mother. At some point between then and arriving at Parker Dam State Park the girl realized this was a lie and attempted to get out of the vehicle. The defendant threatened the girl with a knife if she attempted to do that again.
The girl’s mother, not knowing her daughter’s whereabouts, reported her missing to the local authorities.
At Parker Dam, Robinson got his truck stuck while driving into a wooded area. He then told the girl to get out, and threatened to shoot her if she ran. He was reportedly in possession of a 30-06 high powered rifle.
Robinson allegedly hit the girl twice across the face as she cried while stating she wanted to go home as they walked into the woods. They later returned to the truck. Robinson then allegedly sexually assaulted the girl ¬by sliding his hand into her pants. She pushed him away, and he stopped. The two walked off into the woods again, and slept there until the morning.
The next morning Robinson cut off some of his hair with a purple knife. He handed the hair and his cellphone to the girl, and told her she could leave. He then said that he was going to kill himself before walking off into the woods.
The girl made her way to a ranger’s station where she called her mother. She then went to the hospital for medical treatment.
Injuries to her face were documented there, and the girl also submitted to a rape kit that was placed into evidence.
Police eventually took Robinson into custody. He is in Centre County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
