PHILIPSBURG – With area schools closed or closing soon the Pennsylvania State Police have released reminders to area drivers.
These include watching out for children on the roads, not exceeding the speed limit, removing any obstructions that block the driver’s view of the road from the windshield or hanging objects from the rearview mirror, not driving if you are under the influence of a substance that impairs your judgment, vision or reflexes, this ranges from alcohol to drugs, but also includes legal medication, keeping other motorists in mind while you drive and always wearing seatbelts. Avoid using cell phones while driving.
The State Police hope that these precautions mixed with common sense will reduce accidents and tragedies throughout the state this summer.
