PennDOT Advises Motorists of Controlled Burns

CLEARFIELD PennDOT is working in partnership with the Pennsylvania Game Commission to advise motorists of a controlled burn, scheduled to take place sometime between April 6 and May 8 in the State College area.

The controlled burn will take place in the Scotia Barrens, State Game Land #176 for one day, as weather conditions permit, sometime between April 6 and May 8. PennDOT has variable message boards in place along US Route 322 and Interstate 99 (Skytop and Grays Woods areas) to alert motorists to the potential for dense or drifting smoke and lower visibility. Additional information is available to drivers through the Highway Advisory Radio System at 1640 on the am dial. PennDOT will issue updated alerts as necessary.

PennDOT reminds drivers to obey posted speed limits and always buckle up. For more information on roadway construction and maintenance operations, visit PennDOT’s Web site.
