CLEARFIELD – After 15 years a mainstay within the Clearfield Borough system of government is resigning.
F. Cortez “Chip” Bell III tendered his resignation as the borough’s solicitor on Thursday night.
The announcement was made after Clearfield Borough Council held an executive session regarding personnel matters. Council President Jim Leitzinger read Bell’s letter, which noted that Bell is stepping down to devote more time to his family and his other pursuits.
Bell also serves as Clearfield County First Assistant District Attorney under District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.
Clearfield Borough Council will accept letters from attorneys interested in serving as solicitor.
Bell did not give a date for his resignation but did state he will stay on until a replacement is found.
