CLEARFIELD – State police reported a four-vehicle accident on Interstate 80 Tuesday that resulted in two people suffering injuries.
According to police vehicles driven by Brian N. Northrop of DuBois, Gregory Hallman of Matamoras, Spencer Mixon of Milwaukee, WI and George Bowser of Clarion were all travelling west on I-80 near milemarker 117.
Northrop reportedly lost control of his vehicle on the snowy road after he passed Hallman. Northrop then left the road and spun across both lanes of traffic before he was struck on the left side by Hallman.
Police stated that after that impact Mixon noticed Northrop in the right lane but failed to stop, striking Northrop’s vehicle. At this point Bowser struck the ICC bar on Mixon’s trailer.
Northrop suffered moderate injuries and Hallman suffered minor injuries. Both were taken to Clearfield Hospital for treatment. Northrop was later transported to Altoona for further treatment.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident to contact them at 857-3800.
