WOODLAND – The Clearfield-based State Police announced its fourth quarter accident statistics for last year.
“(Our) objective is to provide information on recent motor vehicle accidents and the causative factors to the public,” police said.
According to the report, police investigated 255 motor vehicle accidents. Police said these accidents resulted in 74 injured persons, and three of those suffered fatal injuries.
Police said the accidents were reviewed and showed excessive speed and inattentive driving as the most common causative factors.
Police also said that safety belt usage increases a person’s chances of surviving an accident.
