PHILIPSBURG – State police in Philipsburg are investigating an attempted carjacking that occurred on Saturday in Philipsburg Borough.
Police reported that on Saturday around 9:25 p.m. they responded to an attempted carjacking that happened around the 100 block of South Second Street to the 100 block of North Second Street.
A 23-year-old man reported that he was waiting outside in his parked vehicle when three to four white males, dressed in black with blue bandanas covering their faces, attempted to gain entry to his vehicle. According to police one assailant managed to get in through the passenger side and assaulted the man as he frantically drove away. During the incident the man struck a parked vehicle and a utility pole.
