UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State 125-pounder Brad Pataky of Clearfield picked up a forfeit win Sunday in the 15th-ranked Nittany Lions\’ 27-10 victory over West Virginia in Rec Hall.
The redshirt sophomore did get to compete in front of the 2,042 fans, beating Mountaineer back-up 133-pounder Grant Lowther 11-3 in a bout that won\’t count on his 13-4 record.
Pataky is 4-1 in duals for the Nittany Lions, who are 4-2 and will be idle until hosting Lehigh and Lock Haven on Jan. 4.

ADA, Ohio – Thomas Barger of Clearfield split four matches and Cody Billotte of Frenchville (Clearfield Area High School) lost both of his bouts for Lycoming at the 28th annual Ohio Northern University Invitational in the ONU Sports Center Saturday.
Barger, a sophomore 141-pounder who was seeded No. 7, advanced with major decisions over Wabash\’s Tony Conway 11-1 and Muskingum\’s Tommy Patterson 17-6 before losing to Olivet\’s Vince Tucker 15-5 in the quarterfinals and then to Campbellsville\’s Tyler Voth 14-7 in his first consolation match.
Tucker, ranked No. 10 in NCAA Division III, was pinned in the finals by West Liberty (W.Va.) State\’s two-time NCAA Division II All-American Doug Surra, a former St. Marys High School standout who is 15-0 this season.
Billotte, a sophomore 133-pounder, lost by a 16-0 (4:55) technical fall to Heidelberg\’s Jake Weisman and was pinned in 23 seconds by West Liberty\’s Dustin Daugherty.
Barger, now 5-4, wrestled for the Lycoming 1 team that finished 11th with 59.5 points while Billotte (0-3) was a member of the Lycoming 3 lineup.
Most of the 12 NCAA-III, four NCAA-II and three NAIA schools entered more than one team.

MEN\’S BASKETBALL
GREENSBURG, Pa. – Freshman Todd Hryn of Clearfield saw limited action as Pitt-Greensburg lost a 79-78 heart-breaker to Mount Aloysius Wednesday and bounced back to upset Allegheny Mountain College Conference leader Penn State-Behrend 71-68 on the road Saturday.
Hryn had two rebounds for the Bobcats (2-6, 2-2 AMCC) against PSU-Behrend (5-3, 3-1).
In seven games, he has 26 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and one steal.
