BROCKWAY – More information has been released abou the investigation into a fire that claimed the lives of 10 Brockway residents early Thursday morning.
According to state police, fire marshals are focusing their investigation on the first floor living room near the front of the home. A determination on the cause or point of origin has yet to be made.
Earlier police released the names of those who died as a result of the fire that occurred at a Brockway home early Thursday morning.
Kimberly Peterson, 40-years-old; Rebecca Peterson, 17-years-old; Douglas Peterson III, 13-years-old; Isaac Peterson, 8-years-old; Grace Peterson, 6-years-old; Lillian Peterson, 11-months-old; Cailyn Watson, four-months-old; Desirre Delullo, 2-years-old; Domanic Delullo, 4-years-old; and Jason Mowry, 19-years-old, all lost their lives as a result of the fire.
Two residents of the home were able to escape with minor injuries: James Patterson, 11-years-old and Elizabeth Peterson, 20-years-old.
A preliminary investigation conducted by the state police Fire Marshal Unit indicated that the fire was not suspicious in nature and is not related to any utilities connected to the residence.
Police indicated that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
