UNIVERSITY PARK – Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will present “Bellobration” for seven performances Thursday, April 24, through Sunday, April 27, at the Bryce Jordan Center, University Park.
Bello, a goofy comedic daredevil with orange hair, is featured in a whimsical storyline that allows the audience to see a new side of his character.
Circus fans won’t know whether to laugh or gasp as they witness Bello tempting fate by jumping rope atop the spinning Wheel of Steel or balancing on top of a seven-story high sway pole. Bello performs alongside exotic animals, including Asian elephants, Royal Bengal and white tigers, as well as an international cast of acrobats
One step into the arena and audiences will immediately be whisked away into a magical world of lights, colors and contemporary music. Beowulf Boritt, one of Broadway’s leading production designers created a one-of-a-kind, art-deco-inspired, 42-foot-high portal and bandstand, flanked by a huge diamond-shaped video screen that complements each act with colorful graphics and point of view camera shots that place the audience in the middle of all the action.
