WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP – DuBois-based state police reported that two people were injured in an accident on state Route 219 Thursday evening.
According to police Daniel Annis of DuBois was traveling south on SR 219. John Fink of Ridgway was traveling north. Police said that for unknown reasons Annis traveled onto the north lane and struck Fink head-on.
After the impact Annis spun sideways and cate to rest on the northbound lane and east shoulder of SR 219, facing northeast. Fink spun 180 degrees and came to rest on both lanes of traffic facing south.
Annis was airlifted to Altoona and Fink was transported by ambulance to DuBois Regional Medical Center for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Police were assisted at the scene by DuBois Emergency Medical Services, Friendship Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Sandy Hose Fire and REscue.
